time to go home... boo.

Last Thursday night was our (one day late) Boxing Day dinner with our family.  Although I love seeing my aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins, this dinner is always a clear reminder that our Christmas celebrations are over and normal life is about to resume.  It makes me sad to know that I won't see my relatives for some time... And it makes me sad to see all the decor come down... And it makes me sad to leave my parents and go home.  Bahhh... Do any of you feel like this??

I packed on Thursday and on Friday I loaded up my car and headed West!!  My first stop was Omaha, where I got the hairrr diddd.  Since my hair has been growing and becoming so thick, I have been hesitant to lighten it at all... But my hairstylist darkened it toward the top just a smidge and then added a glaze coat for lots of shine.

J met me in the O and he took me to my faaavorite restaurant there, then we went out with some friends  on Friday night.  Over breakfast on Saturday, J and decided we would stay in Omaha another night.  So... We took our doggies to the dog park.  We did a little shopping (Pandora for me, Scheel's for him).   We went to lunch.

Saturday night we went to the Creighton basketball game with some friends, then kicked up our heels and went out on the town!!  :)  I've missed my friends so much... I loved getting to spend some time with them and letting them get to know J a bit more!!

Unfortunately... When you are an old lady like me and you go out two nights in a row, you do not feel lovely the next morning.  J and I had planned on leaving early Sunday morning for Denver, but we were both too tired (especially me!!)

So instead of driving to Denver we relaxed.  J watched his coyote hunting DVD.  I read my book.  Even the dogs lounged around and relaxed with us.  We did some laundry to leave the next day and I cleaned up the house a bit.  It was perfection.  I didn't venture out until the afternoon, when we went on a little redneck date  :)

Bass Pro Shops for hunting DVD's and pink self defense.

J didn't think I was American because I had never seen Star Wars, so I watched the first movie with him on Sunday night.  I have to admit, it isn't as dorky or strange as I thought it would be... Although it was probably made better because we were joined by a cute little friend we adopted that night  :)

Side Note:  J officially thinks I'm crazy because I wanted a Furby.  But I couldn't help it... I think they're cute and I wanted to see what the new one did that mine from the olden days didn't do.

The Furby.  And Miss Lola, enjoying some Star Wars.

On Monday morning (New Year's Eve) we headed for Denver, leaving Omaha behind.  In December alone, I've driven almost 4,000 miles.  So I was looking forward to going HOME, getting settled in the new house, and moving on to the next step in my life!!  (Even though I wasn't looking forward to another 8 hours in the car.)
