Birthday, Birthday!!
I started the day bright and early by celebrating with the Intro to Criminal Law high school class I've been teaching with a partner. At 7:30 am, anyone can use a little sugar to get them going!! High school students are no exception... I treated them to my favorite cookies in the world. A plate of various kinds a plate of lemon cookies with lemon frosting... Mmmm!! They enjoyed the cookies while we played a trivia/Jeopardy-style game. I found the whole experience to be more challenging than I expected, but so worth it... I love the idea of being able to have a major effect on kids' lives by opening their minds and making them truly think about things.
I felt so special all day Wednesday... I received a sweet package from Mom and Dad, some beautiful pink birthday flowers, and some adorable pink sugar cookies!! I studied for the MPRE and put in some time on my elliptical machine that afternoon.
I allowed myself to take my time getting ready, which was such a treat for me!! I feel like lately I've just been doing whatever takes the least amount of time and it gets a little depressing after a while!! It was nice to actually enjoy doing my hair and makeup and not be thinking about my next obligation.
Birthday makeup... I tested out my new Chanel bronzer and I love it!!
Birthday outfit... Free People top, Joe's Jeans, Louis Vuitton handbag, and Jessica Simpson wedges.
J took me to a sushi restaurant for dinner, then we took a little walk to enjoy the unusually beautiful March weather. After dinner, a couple of my girlfriends came over with dessert and presents. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday, although I did start feeling guilty for not studying toward the end of the evening!! I am so looking forward to working, when I won't have to have that constant "study, study, study" dread and pressure hanging over me!!
MPRE... Over!! Time to Celebrate!!
On Saturday, when I walked out of the MPRE testing room, it was the best feeling!! I was finally able to relax and celebrate my birthday!! Even though it was St. Patrick's Day, I didn't wear green... I wore my white Boulee dress I bought for Vegas last summer. I just didn't have anything green I wanted to wear. Criticize all you want, I don't have one smidge of Irish in my background. And AW gave me some green beads to wear. So there. ;)
Notice anything?? Hehe... We put my TopShop beetle ring in our appetizer :)
The beautiful girlies at dinner!!
After dinner, the bars were packed with St. Patrick's Day shenanigans. We opted to go to the gay club... Where we knew we could dance, there would be amazing music, and not such long lines to get a drink!! We had so much fun... I think I could have danced all night if it wasn't for my sky-high heels.
Thank you to J and my fabulous friends for making me feel so special!!
Xoxo B.
