New Addiction

Oh. My. Goodness. 

Have you guys seen the show Dance Moms on Lifetime?!  It is wonderfully addicting and will satisfy your reality TV need like none other.  One afternoon marathon while recovering from a bad bout of strep throat and I was hooked.  

The TV show is all about a dance teacher, Abby Lee Miller, and the moms who send their daughters to her for dance lessons and to compete under her studio's name across the country.  The moms, by far, are the best part.  They are catty... And childish... And pouty.  But they also love their daughters, and get all kinds of crazy when they think someone is being unfair to their kid.  Talk about Mama Bear. 

You can just smell the crazy, can't you?!

My favorite moms are Christi and Cathy.  Christi has the best one-liners and Cathy, who owns her own studio, is just cray-cray and is always plotting revenge on Abby Lee's dancers at competition.

Abby Lee is also extremely entertaining.  She's an, um... Larger woman... And she just storms around the studio/venue/bus bossing everyone around and being rude.  I think Abby probably managed a juvenile detention center prior to owning her dance studio. 

My mom was a dance teacher, and I have to say... She was nothing like Abby Lee!!  I cannot imagine my mother ever raising her voice like that to the "dance moms" or saying such terrible things to the little girls!!  Even though I do remember her going over and over steps with me, with notes on that yellow legal pad... Mom!!  ; )

You can get caught up on Season 2 episodes (that's the current season) HERE.  Then watch the new episode Tuesday at 9pm/8pm C on Lifetime!!  If you want to watch Season 1, I would suggest seeing when Lifetime does another marathon, or buying the episodes on Amazon Instant Video or iTunes.
