Over the years, my SATC TV series set has become my go-to when I'm sad or frustrated or sick. I can't tell you how many times I've popped in a DVD and within minutes felt cured of any ailment because of Samantha's crazy antics or Carrie's refreshing honesty. I know they're just characters on a TV show, but I feel like I know them... Like they're long-lost friends. Their stories and situations seem so familiar to me.
One afternoon BB and I were exploring the West Village... We didn't really plan on scoping out Miss Bradshaw's apartment that afternoon, we just kind of stumbled upon it. BB said, "Oh... I think this is the street Carrie Bradshaw's apartment is on..." I Googled it to make sure, and sure enough... We were literally a block away.
66 Perry Street is nestled in a quiet street of brownstones, lined with big trees. On either end of the street there are little restaurants, cozy little coffee places, and small shops. It's so quiet and peaceful you can't believe you're in Manhattan. I can imagine curling up on a window seat in one of those homes and just reading an afternoon away.
There were a few other girls there taking photos. I noticed a "No Trespassing" sign hung across the front steps and I realized how annoying it must be for the current residents to have hundreds of silly girls taking photos right outside your home. Still... I think I could deal with it in exchange for the perfect location. The West Village reminded me so much of little neighborhoods in London... Quaint, cozy, and charming.
Just waiting for Mr. Big!! ;)
Wearing: romper from a local boutique & cream Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.
BB as the NEW Miss Bradshaw.
Wearing: booty shorts that got him pleeenty of attention that day!! ;)
I'll leave you with a SATC quote:
Carrie: "Damn! Why is that girl still bothering me?"
Samantha: "Honey, you have to let it go. If I worried what every bitch in New York was saying about me, I'd never leave the house!!"
Xoxo B.
