One thing I was thrilled about was my Carlos Falchi python-skin clutch I carried. The clutch usually runs somewhere between $675 and $895, but I rented it from Bag, Borrow, or Steal for $17 - for the week!! **(Because I procrastinated I had to overnight my bag, which made it more like $49 to rent... But it was definitely all my fault, not BBS's.)
This is the first time I've tried this service... And I would definitely recommend. The bag was in great condition, clean, and came with a dust bag. I don't think I would rent a handbag I was planning on carrying every day, but this is simply because my "everyday bags" are oddly personal to me... And I would just feel weird (and nervous to spill something!) carrying a rented handbag day in and day out.
But for this event it was perfect... I needed a specific clutch (I wanted something python and it had to be gold/metallic) for one event... And it was a fashion show, so I wanted my bag to be something fun and trendy!! Who wants to spend almost $1,000 on a clutch you might only carry once?? I definitely don't... and it's for these situations that I'll go back to Rent the Runway in the future!!
